Area 5

AREA V FALL MEETINGS 

On September 22, forty-two women met at the First Baptist Church in East Alton, IL for the Area 5 east fall meeting.  Rev. Ron Wenzel, Director of the Arms of Love Pregnancy Resource Center in Alton, IL was the speaker.  Offerings were as follows: General Fund $193; speaker  $239.    In addition to this offering and the honorarium of $50.00, many baby items were brought for the Center. Love Gift was received via Love Gift boxes on the tables and totaled $162.80 

 On September 29, twenty-seven women met at the First Baptist Church of Kansas City for the Area 5 west fall meeting.  The director of  Rachel House Northern location, Marilyn Inman and counselor for the Blue Springs location, Suzanne Hanley, were the speakers.  Marilyn had a baby at age seventeen and gave him up for adoption.  Suzanne had an abortion at age nineteen.   As each told their story, all present were moved.  Rachel House is a pregnancy resource center with three locations in the Kansas City, Missouri area  Offerings were as follows: General Fund   $ 73; Speakers $151.  In addition to this offering and the honorarium of $50.00 many baby items were brought for Rachel House. Love Gift $ 66.25       

Officers from the St. Louis area (Sharon Wear, Area 5 president; Rebecca Davis, secretary; Georgia Chambers-Hunter, personal development & Donna McDill, White Cross) traveled to the KC meeting.

It was great to see David & Maureen Davis at the KC meeting. They have been very active in Area 5 & GRR events for many years. They are both well.

Both meetings were excellent in content and fellowship.
