Peter Brick, pastor of Ottawa First Baptist Church, discusses a design question with web team member Ellen Dieterich, during their consultation with GRR Web Ministries team leader Richard Ricks. In the 2 hour meeting with Ricks, the team went from discussing design to registration of domain name to signing up for a web hosting account posting the first page of their new site, www.ottawafbc.org

How GRR Churches Do Web

You may find a list of all churches of the GRR who have a web site on this site. If your church is not listed, please send the address of your church's site to Candy Stivers so she can include you.

There are certain features our churches are adding to their sites to be more inviting and better serve their users. From time to time some will be lifted up as examples of what you might consider doing with your site.

One of several churches who have started using a video welcome on their site is Ridgeview Baptist Church of Danville (find these videos under their Staff section in the navigation menu). The Sr. Pastor and his Associate Pastors each have a greeting. Users will find these to be inviting, informative, and personal.

Putting video on your site is not difficult. You do not need to upload one to YouTube or GodTube. You can do it yourself - on your own site. (Posting on YouTube is also an option.) Richard Ricks, GRR Associate Minister has experience in this and can help you get started. Explore the Ministries Technologies section of this site for more ideas.

A Second Blitz with Habitat

There will be a second Baptist Blitz to build at least 5 more houses. This is being planned for April 2008. Our Executive Minister, Dwight Stinnett, is already making personal plans to work on this project. More information is coming soon.

Jim Wolfe (D.Min, Ph.D), Sr. Pastor of Pontiac FBC has recently had his book American Baptist Women in Pastoral Ministry: A Contemporary Survey, published by Cloverdale.

Rev. Valentine B. Royal-Thomas writes of this book, "Through a tapestry of personal experience, theology, history, and statistics reflecting hope and challenge, Pastor Wolfe compassionately captures and relates the sacred journey of American Baptist Women in Pastoral Ministry."

This book can be purchased by ordering through your local bookstore or online.

John Grisham presents 12 short videos on stewardship by Robert Crandall and Associates. These are well done and appropriate for showing in worship, discipleship venues, and other occassions.
