Education

There are 3 approved educational tracks:

I. B.A., B.S. or equivalent from accredited college or university. (Usually 4 years post high school)

II. Experience, but this is limited to 3 years of education for 6 (six) years experience. In practical terms this means a person who has earned an undergraduate degree and has been in full-time ministry for six years.

III. Regional Ordination Program

Required Courses of Study and Status for both Tracks

1. ABC History and Polity Course

2. Professional Boundaries Course

3. Candidacy assessment by Midwest Career Development Center. This report must be sent to COMSAO.

4. Place of service in an American Baptist Church or other American Baptist ministry.
