Duane Binkley

Binkley_family_2007Duane and Marcia Binkley serve Burmese ethnic Karen and Chin refugees both in the United States and Thailand. The Binkleys work with the tens of thousands of refugees coming to the U.S. while continuing to work with those still remaining in refugee camps along the Thai-Myanmar (Burma) border. The Binkleys are jointly appointed by International Ministries and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Within the U.S. the Binkleys will work with national and regional mission entities of American Baptist Churches USA and ABC and CBF local churches.

Max Klinkenborg

Max Klinkenborg

Max was recognized for his service during the 2007 Annual Meeting in Decatur IL. He has faithfully served the churches of Area II for twenty years. Max is one of the senior “deans” among his national colleagues in similar roles.

During his 20 years on the ministerial staff of the GRR, Max has shepherded the Foresee-the-Future campaign and led church planting. Nationally, he served with the Interim Ministries/ Ministers-at-Large program. In recent years, Max has assumed leadership for leadership for Natural Church Development efforts in the Region and has given his expertise to Consecration Sunday efforts.

After 20 years of service to the Great Rivers Region, Rev. Max Klinkenborg has announced his retirement effective July 1, 2008. The Region is grateful for Max’s 20 years of dedicated service, and prays that God’s blessing will continue to be with Kay and Max as they enter this new stage of life.

Gary Baits

Mylinda and Gary Baits are pastors and professors but mainly friends and connectors who walk alongside their sisters and brothers in Christ.  They enjoy connecting students with leadership training, connecting scriptures to everyday life, and connecting people’s gifts with life changing ministries.    
The Baitses work with the Costa Rican Baptist Federation in pastoral and lay leadership development and theological education.
