Sharing God’s Passion in the 21st Century:
Developing holistic spirituality in your community of faith

Dr. Karen Walker-Freeburg, Associate Professor of Ministry and Spirituality at Northern Baptist Seminary, also serves the school as Director of Supervised Ministries. Karen graduated from University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA, then did her MDiv and DMin at Northern. She was ordained at Marley Community Church
in Mokena, IL. Her last assignment was Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at NBTS where she made a tremendous impact on student enrollment and scholarships. Karen’s interests are spiritual formation, Christian vocational counseling, Christian perspectives of human sexuality, and Baptist polity. She is a professional Myers Briggs Personality Inventory trainer and a church conflict negotiator.

1:00 PM - Reid Trulson

Sharing God’s Mission in the 21st Century:
The changing face of mission.

Dr. Reid Trulson, Executive Director of American Baptist International Ministries, has served over twenty
years in local church ministry and over twelve years with International Ministries. Reid completed his MDiv
and DMin at Fuller Seminary, and was ordained at Friendship Baptist Church, Pasadena, California. He served in ABC of Wisconsin and also as a ABC missionary in Europe. His last assignment was Area Director for Europe and the Middle East. Reid comments, “It is both exciting and a bit overwhelming to see how God is calling IM to serve American Baptists to make a difference in the midst of cultures that are clashing and rapidly changing.
