To make this PowerPoint presentation download more quickly by compressing them to about 5 percent of their original size and able to be played on more computers, it has been converted to a java-based player.

You have come this screen to find how to make this player work or to inquire on what is going on when your web browser has asked your permission to install a plug-in (a piece of software that can make the player work).

Here is what you do:

Allow your computer to install the JAVA "plugin." This is a 3 - 4 step process:

  1. Downloading the Java software (referred to either as "plug-in" and/or "java runtime environment"). Give permission for your computer to download this.

  2. Install the software that has just been downloaded. Give permission for the installation to proceed.

  3. If you have a firewall, your computer may ask you if you give this newly installed software permission to access the internet. Give it permission. The software is contacting the internet where this Powerpoint presentation is located so as to be able to play it on your computer. (This 3rd step may or may not be needed depending upon whether or not you have a firewall on your computer.)

  4. Restart your browser and reload the page/presentation that you were first trying to access.
